Give Us Your Abandoned and Uprooted Trees, 3rd District!
This is a message to anyone in the 3rd District that doesn’t want the 30 trees planted along Sixth Street in Alamitos Heights.
Apparently several of the trees were “blocking” a view of Recreation Park golf course and so someone took upon themself to uproot or cracked about a dozen of the saplings. A neighborhood “furor” over the “view blocking magnolias” broke out — some wanting the trees and others not wanting them.
Okay 3rd District — send them over to the 5th District. We’ll give them a good home. We need more trees in El Dorado Park Estates and other parts of the 5th District.
I guess it doesn’t matter to some people that trees add value to a neighborhood — they also lower the temperature and absorb rain (if we ever get any) which lessens the impact on our sewers and streets. They also scrub the air and make it cleaner.
