Sunday, December 30th, 2007It’s that time of year when I finally have time to clean up my home office and try and get re-organized for the New Year.
It is also the time I can sit down and go on the internet and research issues I haven’t time to to check out.
So in the spirit of “cleaning out” and […]
Merry Christmas and New Year’s Predictions
Tuesday, December 25th, 2007For all of you who celebrate Christmas, have a Merry Christmas. To others, have a peaceful holiday time. As I write this, I look out my home office window at the El Dorado Park and Library. The weather is perfect. The view is spectacular. I am very grateful.
New Year’s brings promise and predictions.
I predict:
All the […]
Coyote Creek and other Bike Paths
Friday, December 21st, 2007Along the Coyote Creek, San Gabriel River and Los Angeles River are bike paths that go quite a distance up into Los Angeles County and down through Orange County to the ocean.
Because these bike paths go through several jurisdictions and also include the Flood Control Districts of both counties, there are many questions as to […]
Cleaning up the neighborhood and making it safe
Friday, December 21st, 2007If you live near the flood control area on Los Coyotes Diagonal you might have noticed that the street has been marked for as many years as I can remember as a “bike path.” The marking means that vehicles of any size cannot park in the bike path.
Why? Because as part of the state bike lane […]

As part of the federally mandated process which has been on-going for almost a year, a citizen […]
Inquiries About My Technology Use
Monday, December 17th, 2007Someone out there is upset about my website, my blog and my use of technology –such as getting a video done of the 5th District Good Neighbor Awardees.
How do I know? Well, a reporter has contacted my office and the City’s Public Information Officer to ask such questions as: which council person uses tech services […]
7% Still Too Much
Saturday, December 15th, 2007I voted to allow the City Manager to give management raises up to 7% — which is down from the 12% that was done last year.
With the announcement of the severe state deficit and the possibility that the Governor may once again raid funds that are needed in our City — the Council needs to […]
Lakewood Owed More Notice to Long Beach and Mitigation
Friday, December 14th, 2007Thursday night I spoke before the Lakewood Planning and Environment Commission about how it failed to properly notice the City of Long Beach about the proposed COSTCO and COSTCO gas station that when built (it replaces an abandoned store) will face Graywood and offers an invitation for the new COSTCO customers exiting the Lakewood Shopping […]
Tree Lightings Successful and Fun…
Monday, December 10th, 2007Despite a threat of rain and cold winds, the tree lighting at Heartwell Park went off without a hitch.
More than 135 parents and children came bundled up to see the trees in the pond be lit and to watch several movies on the grass. Some inventive families brought outdoor portable heaters.
Santa arrived and many families […]
